1. Park machine on a level surface, lower cutting units,
stop engine, engage parking brake and remove key
from the ignition switch.
2. Removecutting unit from rearlift armto beremoved.
3. Remove one retaining ring (item 32) and thrust
washer (item 31) from the cylinder pin (item 30) that se-
cures the lift cylinder rod end to lift arm. Pull cylinder pin
fromtheliftcylinderand liftarm.Locateandretrievesec-
ond thrust washer.
4. Pivot lift cylinder rod end away from lift arm.
CAUTION
Be careful when removing tension from the tor-
sion springonthe rearlift arms.The springis un-
der heavy load and may cause personal injury.
5. Removetensionfromtorsionspringonrearofliftarm
pivot pin.
A. Insert nut driver or small piece of pipe onto the
endof thetorsionspringthat issecuredon therear of
the lift arm pivot pin.
