exhaust
lifter
with
an
"x"
marking
to
assure
correct
install
a
tion
during
assembly.

lock
nuts
from
connecting
rod
bolts.
NOTE: Use
thin
wall
socket
to
remo
ve
lock
nuts.

sing
the
wrong
socket
will
jorce
pyessure
against
rod
cap
and
cause
misalign-
ment.
Remove
connecting
rod
cap
and
push
pis-
ton
and
rod
out
top
of
block.

Remove
bearing
retainer,
bearing,
bearing
cup
and
shims.
Discard
paper
shims.

rod

vise

soft
jaws
to
prevent
damaging
rod.
CAUTION:
TIght-
en
vise only tight
enough
to
hold the assembly.

pressure

remove
rings,
