Remo
ve
the
pump,
valve
and
reservoirunU
from
the
top
oj

engine
and
lower
it
to
the
ground
with
the
hydraulic
lines
still
aUached.
This

the

the
system.
Disconnect
throttle
and
choke
conduit
and
cable
end
at
carburetor
and
control
arm.
Remove
carburetor,
control
arm
and
breather
assembly,

baffle,
cylinder
head
and
head
gasket.

Remove
all
deposits
from
combustion
cham-
ber
and
gasket
surface
of he
ad
with
a
scraper
and
a
wir
e
brush.
Be
careful
not
to
dama~e
the
cylinder
h
ea
d
gasket
surface.
Use
a
safe
cleaning
solvent
to
r
emo
ve
dirt,
glC'ase
and
other
deposits.
Check
th
e
cylinder
head
for
cracks,
broken
cooling
fins
and
inspect
th
e
gasket
surface
for
burrs
and
nicks.
Heplace
the
head
if
any
of
these
conditions
are
found.

When
a
cylinder
head
is
removed
because
of
gasket
leaks,
check
the
flatness
of
th
e
cyl1nd
r
head
by
placing
it
on
a
surface
plate,

Check
to
see
that
gasket
surfaces
make
con-
tact
at
all
points.
Replace
the
cylinder
head
if
it
is
warped.
NOTE:
Always
use
new
head
gasket
aftery
c-
moving
cylinder
head.
