ERROR MESSAGES
This appendix defines error messages that may appear on the autoloader’s
operator panel and provides corrective actions.
Ta bl e C - 1 lists autoloader error messages in alphabetical order. If the suggested
corrective action does not correct the error, contact Exabyte Technical Support
(see page iii) or your service provider.
Caution
Most autoloader components can be replaced only by Exabyte-approved service
providers. If you cannot find an obvious cause for the problem, contact your
service provider. Do not attempt to replace any components other than the tape
drive. If you do, you will void your warranty.

! Important
Some corrective actions advise you to reset or power the
autoloader off and back on. To avoid disrupting
communication between the host computer and other devices
on the bus, make sure that there is no activity on the bus
before you reset or power off the autoloader.
If you need to power the autoloader off, first unload the
cartridge from the tape drive, if possible. If you power the
autoloader off and back on while a cartridge is in the tape
drive, the drive may have to perform a lengthy format recovery
process.
