Multimeter
The meter can test electrical components and circuits
for current, resistance orvoltage. Obtainthis toollocally.
NOTE: Toro recommends the use of a DIGITAL Volt--
Ohm--Amp multimeter when testing electrical circuits.
Thehighimpedance (internalresistance) ofa digitalme-
ter in the voltage mode will make sure that excess cur-
rent is not allowed through the meter. This excess
current can cause damage to circuits not designed to
carry it.

Hand Held Diagnostic Display
The Hand Held Diagnostic Display (Fig. 6) can be
connected to the wiring harness communication con-
nector located under the operator seat to verify correct
electrical functions of the Toro Electronic Controller
(TEC). TEC inputs and outputs can be checked using
the Diagnostic Display.

IMPORTANT: The Hand Held Diagnostic Display
must not be left connected to the machine. It is not
designed to withstand the environment of the ma-
chine’s every day use. When use of Diagnostic Dis-
play is completed, disconnect it from the machine
and install protective cap to wire harness connec -
tor.Store Diagnostic Displayin adry,secure,indoor
location and not on machine.
