WHEEL MOTOR EFFICIENCY TEST FOR
LEFT FRONT WHEEL MOTOR SHOWN
Procedure for Wheel Motor Efficiency
Test
NOTE: Over a period of time, a wheel motor c an wear
internally.A worn motor mayby--pass oil toits casedrain
causing the motor to be less efficient. Eventually,
enough oil loss will cause the wheel m otor to stall under
heavy load conditions. Continued operation with a worn,
inefficient motor can generate excessive heat, cause
damage to seals and other components in the hydraulic
system and affect overall machine performance.
1. Make sure hydraulic oil is at normal operating tem-
perature byoperating the machine for approximately ten
(10) minutes. Make sure the hydraulic tank is full.
2. Parkmachine ona level surface with the cutting units
lowered and off. Make sure engine is off.
CAUTION
Before continuing further, read and become f a-
miliar with Precautions for Hydraulic Testing.
3. Make sure that traction pedal is adjusted to the neu-
tral position (see Traction Unit Operator’s Manual).
4. Attachaheavychaintotherearofthemachineframe
and an immovable object to prevent the machine from
moving during testing.
5. If machine has 3 wheel drive, block up the rear wheel
offthe ground to allow flowthroughthe rear wheel motor.
