NOTE: The charge relief valve is attached to the piston
pump back plate (Fig. 43). The back plate must be re-
moved to service the relief valve.
NOTE: The piston (traction) pump is equipped with re-
lief valves for both the forward and reverse direction.
Due to engine output, it is unlikely that traction pressure
will reach relief valve settings. If, however, a pump relief
valveis leakingor otherwisefaulty, tractionperformance
would be affected.
IMPORTANT: Theshim kit(item7) isused toreplace
theoriginal crushring (notshown)in thecoverplate
(item 25). If the swash plate (item 10), cover plate
(item25) orhousing (item29) is replaced during ser-
vicing, theold crush ring mustbe replaced.See Pis-
