Audio Alarm
The audio alarm sounds to notify the operator when a
machine problem exists. Electrical current for the alarm
is provided as an output from the TEC controller. The
alarm is attached to the console arm next to the operator
seat.
Testing
1. Make sure ignition switch is OFF. Remove key from
ignition switch.
2. Disassemble console arm to gain access to the au-
dio alarm (see Console Arm Disassembly in the Service
and Repairs section of Chapter 7 -- Chassis).
3. Disconnect wire harness connector from alarm.
IMPORTANT: Make sure to observe polarity on the
alarm terminals when testing. Damage to the alarm
may result from an improper connection.
4. Correctly connect 12VDC source to the alarm termi-
nals (Fig. 68).
5. Alarm should sound as long as 12VDC is connected
to the alarm terminals.
6. Disconnect voltage source from the alarm. Recon-
nect harness connector to alarm.
7. Assemble console arm (see Console Arm Assembly
in the Service and Repairs section of Chapter 7 -- Chas-
sis).
