MTG100 & MTG300 MPEG Generator Service Manual
2Ć3
This MPEG generator operates with any line voltage from 100–240 VAC
RMS
with any line frequency from 48–63 Hz. Before plugging the cord in the outlet,
be sure that the power supply voltage is proper.
Operating Environment
The following environmental requirements are provided to ensure proper
operation and long instrument life.
Operate the MPEG generator where the ambient air temperature is from +5_ C to
+40_ C with no diskette in the floppy drive. Store the MPEG generator in
ambient temperatures from –20_ C to +60_ C with no diskette in the floppy
drive. After storage at temperatures outside the operating limits, allow the
chassis to stabilize at a safe operating temperature before applying power.
Verify that there is at least 5.0 cm (2 inch) of clearance on top and bottom,
15.0 cm (6 inches) on the left and right sides, and 7.5 cm (3 inches) at the rear of
the instrument to allow for heat dissipation. Verify that the air intake holes on the
sides and bottom of the cabinet are not obstructed.
NOTE. If you are installing the instrument in a dedicated rack, refer to the
instruction sheet that comes with the rackmounting kit for proper installation
procedures.
When the generator is mounted in a 19-inch rack, verify that there is at least one
unit of clearance above the MPEG generator.
