To remove and replace the hard disk drive

To remove and replace the hard disk drive
Use theseg steps to remove and replace the hard disk drive. When necessary, refer to other
removal procedures.

Disconnect the power cable and remove the cover.
2 Disconnect the hard disk interface cable W10 from the hard disk drive.
3 Remove the 4 Torx T15 screws that secure the hard disk drive bracket to the chassis.
4 Remove the 4 Torx T10 screws that secure the HDD to the bracket.
CAUTION DO NOT LET THE DISK DRIVE FALL!
Support the drive while removing the screws so that the drive does not fall.

Lift the hard disk out of the chassis. Store the disk in a safe place where it will not be
bumped or dropped.
6 To replace the hard disk drive, reverse the above procedure. Ensure that you reconnect
the disk cable with the correct polarity.
CAUTION DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN SCREWS!
Do not overtighten the T10 screws that secure the HDD to the bracket. Torque to 3 in-lbs.

Run the WINBIOS setup, discussed under “To configure the motherboard jumpers and
set up the BIOS” in chapter 5.
