ᕥ Component Video. (Connects to a TV or A/V system.)
Component Video provides a high-definition picture using a
Component Video cable (included). Connect a separate cable for
audio.
ᕦ Left/Right Audio Outputs. (Connects to a TV, VCR, DVD
recorder, or A/V system.) Connect the Left/Right Audio cables
(the white and red ones) to these jacks for analog stereo sound.
ᕧ Composite Video Outputs. (Connects to a TV, VCR, DVD
recorder, or A/V system.) Composite Video provides very good
standard definition picture quality. It does not provide high-
definition video. It is used with the Left/Right Audio cables (the
white and red ones).
ᕨ USB. (Connects to a USB network adapter; USB stands for
Universal Serial Bus.) Use one of the two USB ports to connect
the DVR to your home network using a wireless USB network
adapter.
ᕩ Ethernet. (Connects to an Ethernet cable.) Use this jack to
connect the DVR to your home network.
µ HDMI. (Connects to a TV, A/V receiver, or home theater
system.) HDMI provides a pure digital connection for high-
definition video and digital audio all in one cable.
If your TV has a DVI (Digital Video Interface) jack, you can use
an HDMI-to-DVI adapter (sold separately) for a digital video
connection from the TiVo DVR to your TV. You will need to
connect a separate cable for audio.
¸ CableCARD
TM
Slots. (For use with CableCARD decoders.)
If you subscribe to digital cable, CableCARD decoders replace
your digital cable set-top box. They allow the TiVo DVR to
receive and decode encrypted digital programming, such as
premium channels. When you insert two CableCARD decoders,
you can watch and record two digital cable channels at the same
time. See the Start Here poster for more information.
¹ External Storage. For future use.
Ƹ Antenna. (Connects to a TV antenna.) Connect a Coaxial RF
cable from your antenna to this jack. This allows the DVR to
receive ATSC (digital) broadcasts and NTSC (standard)
broadcasts over the air.
ƹ Cable. (Connects to your cable TV source.) Connect the Coaxial
RF cable coming from the wall to this jack.
