General Information
Traction Unit Operator’s Manual
The Traction Unit Operator’s Manual provides informa-
tion regarding the operation, general maintenance and
maintenance intervals for your Groundsmaster ma-
chine. Refer to that publicationforadditional information
when servicing the machine.
Check Hydraulic Fluid
The hydraulic system on your Groundsmaster is de-
signed to operate on anti--wear hydraulic fluid. The res-
ervoir holds approximately 19 gallons (71.9 liters) of
hydraulic fluid. Check level of hydraulic fluid daily.
See Operator’s Manual for fluid level checking proce-
dure and hydraulic oil recommendations.

Relieving Hydraulic System Pressure
Before disconnecting or performing any work on the hy-
draulic system, all pressure in the hydraulic system
mustberelieved.Park machine on a level surface, lower
cutting decks fully, disengage PTO, stop engine and en-
gage parking brake.
System pressure inmow circuit is relieved when thecut-
ting decks are disengaged. To relieve hydraulic pres-
sure in steering c ircuit, rotate steering w heel in both
directions.
Torelievehydraulicpressure in liftcircuit,make sure that
engine is not running and have operator seat occupied.
Turn ignition switch to RUN, depress deck lift switches
to the deck lower position and then release switch. Re-
turn ignition switch to the OFF position.
