Reference Waveform Mnemonics
Commands can specify the reference waveform to use as a mnemonic in the
header.
Symbol Meaning
REF<x>
A reference waveform specifier; <x> is either 1 or
2.
Waveform Mnemonics
In some commands you can specify a waveform, regardless of whether it is a
channel waveform, a math waveform, or a reference waveform. Specify these
as follows:

Can be CH<x>, MATH, MATH1,orREF<x>
The argument of a command may be in one of several forms. The individual
descriptions of each command tell which argument types to use with that
command.
Numeric Arguments
Many oscilloscope commands require numeric arguments. The syntax shows
the format that the oscilloscope returns in response to a query. This is also
the preferred format when sending the command to the oscilloscope though
it will accept any of the formats. This manual represents these arguments as
follows:

<NR1>
Signed integer value
<NR2> Floating point value without an exponent
The oscilloscope will automatically force most numeric arguments to a valid
setting, either by rounding or truncating, when you input an invalid number
unless otherwise noted in the command description.
Quoted String Arguments
Some commands accept or return data in the form of a quoted string, which
is simply a group of ASCII characters enclosed by a single quote (’)or
double quote (”). For example:
”this is a quoted string”
