Note: “Pre ss” means press and release briefly. “Press and hold ” me ans press and
hol d dow n for at least 2- seconds. “F + Pre ss” me an s Tap or Press the Scroll
Control to put the scanner into Function mode then pr ess the key under
discussion.

1. Po wer VOL, Mute
• Turn to turn the scan ne r on or off.
• T ur n to adjust the volume [VOL].
• Pr ess b riefly to en ab le Ale rt Mute tempo rarily. Pre ss briefly again to tur n it off.
• Pr ess and hold to enable Alert M ode continuously. Press briefly again to turn it
off.
2. Squelch [SQ] control, [STATE] Key
• T ur n to adjust squelc h.
• Pr ess to switch to the State list. Use the S cro ll Co ntro l to di al to the d esired
sta t e. P ress F to ent er your selectio n.
3. Scroll Control, Function Key, Enter Key (see separate Function Plus
listing)
• Turn to select Ch anne l, Freq u en cy, or TGID in HOL D mode .
• T ur n to dial to a m enu item in M EN U mode.
• Turn to select an alpha-numeric c harac ter while edit ing a name in ME NU
mode.
• T ur n to resume scanning or searching whi le monitor ing.
• Press /Ta p to en ter FUNCTION mode . No te this approach result s in a 4 sec ond
ti m eout. T he scanner then r eturns to N OR M AL mode.
• Pr ess and Hold to latch FUNC TION m ode. Press again to release.
• Press t o select F a m enu item.
• Press plus t urn [VOL] to s et backl ight.
• Press plus t urn Scroll Control to move r apidly to a syst em o r cu stom se arch
range.
