Option Description Default
Xmodem Zmodem
Mcommand Sends a command to the modem before beginning
the data transfer. Replace command with one of
the following:
A = Auto answer
ATstr = Send ATstr commands
D#x = Dial memory #x (0–9)
Dstr = Dial phone number str

N Forces XFER to ignore all previously specified
option settings, including filenames and options
specified in the XFER_ARGS environment
variable. All XFER options are set to their default
state.

O# Overwrites an existing file with a new file having
the same name. Replace the # symbol with the
desired setting:
1 = Overwrite if source is longer or newer
(Zmodem only)
2 = Overwrite if CRCs don’t match (Zmodem
only)
3 = Append to existing file (Zmodem only)
4 = Always overwrite
5 = Overwrite if source is newer (Zmodem only)
6 = Overwrite if dates or lengths don’t match
(Zmodem only)
7 = Never overwrite

Q Toggles quiet mode on and off. In quiet mode,
only the filename and a “Transmitting...” or
“Receiving...” message is displayed. When quiet
mode is off, additional information is displayed.
Each use of this option reverses the quiet-mode
state.
