122 Enabling GrabTime
VX7 Reference Guide E-EQ-VX7RG-D
Enabling GrabTime
S
The ability to enable GrabTime to run automatically is only present on VX7’s with
software revision 2BT or greater. For more information on identifying the
software version of your VX7, please see “Identifying your VX7” in Chapter 2,
“Physical Description and Layout”.
The VX7 has a GrabTime utility which can be used to synchronize the VX7 with a time server
(via an Internet connection) at boot up.
By default, GrabTime does not run automatically.
To enable GrabTime to run automatically at start up, run \Windows\tmsync.reg and perform a
warmboot. For more detail, see “LAUNCH.EXE”, earlier in this chapter.
Note: These utility affects the behavior of GrabTime warmboot. After a coldboot, GrabTime is
disabled.
GrabTime can also executed manually by using the Sync button on the Date/Time control panel.
See “Date/Time”, earlier in this chapter, for more details.
Network Configuration
There are two networking options available for the VX7:
2.4GHz wireless radios
Ethernet (RJ-45) connector.
2.4 GHz Wireless Radios
Please refer to the appropriate section earlier in this chapter for configuring the Summit, Cisco or
Symbol radio.
Ethernet Connector
When the VX7 is networked using the Ethernet connector, the VX7’s networking options are set
via the Microsoft Windows CE .NET Control Panel.
For more information on configuring the Microsoft Windows CE .NET network
settings, please refer to the Help feature or commercially available Windows CE
.NET networking literature.
