Multimeter
The multimeter can test electrical components and cir-
cuits for current, resistance or voltage.
NOTE: Toro recommends the use of a DIGITAL Volt--
Ohm--Amp multimeter when testing electrical circuits.
Thehigh impedance(internal resistance) ofa digitalme-
ter in the voltage mode will make sure that excess cur-
rent is not allowed through the meter. This excess
current can cause damage to circuits not designed to
carry it.

Dielectric Gel
Dielectric gel should b e used to prevent corrosion of
connectionterminals.Toensurecomplete coating ofter-
minals, liberally apply gel to both component and wire
harness connector, plug connector to component, un-
plug connector, reapply gel to both surfaces and recon-
nect harness connector to component. Connectors
should be t horoughly packed with gel for effective re-
sults.

Battery Terminal Protector
Aerosol spray that should be used on battery terminals
to reduce corrosion problems. Apply terminal protector
after the battery cable has been secured to the battery
terminal.
