9.7 Theoretical Transfer Rates Associated with Transfer Modes
The table below lists different transfer modes that certain IDE and ATAPI (ie. hard drive, CD-
ROM) devices support along with the theoretical transfer rate. Please refer to the
documentation that was bundled with your device or contact the hardware manufacturer for
more information about your specific IDE or ATAPI device.
Note: This table contains theoretical transfer rates of ATA transfer modes supported by the
82801AA and/or 82801AB ICH controller. Your actual transfer rates can vary from the
information contained in this table. In order to take advantage of UDMA-4 (Ultra ATA/66) or
UDMA-5 (Ultra ATA/100), your system must meet specific requirements. Please refer to the
section titled "Ultra ATA/66 and Ultra ATA/100" for more information.
