Final Fuel Filter Bleed Vent Screw
A—Bleed Vent Screw
IMPORTANT: NEVER pressurize the fuel tank to prime
the fuel system as it could rupture seals
in the injection pump.
NOTE: These are the 4-valve cylinder head 4.5 L and 6.8
L “475” model engines with Denso HP3 pumps
and High Pressure Common Rail (HPCR) fuel
systems (decal on rocker arm cover marked “16V”
or “24V”).
IMPORTANT: Four valve cylinder head engines are
especially sensitive to fuel
contamination. Do not crack any fuel
lines to bleed the fuel system.
1. Loosen the air bleed vent screw (A) two full turns by
hand on fuel filter base.
