A—Crosshatch Pattern On Dipstick
IMPORTANT: DO NOT add makeup oil until the oil
level is BELOW the ADD mark on
dipstick. John Deere ENGINE BREAK-IN
OIL (TY22041) should be used to make
up any oil consumed during the
break-in period.
3. Check engine oil level more frequently during engine
break-in period. If oil must be added during this period,
John Deere ENGINE BREAK-IN OIL is preferred. See
ENGINE BREAK-IN OIL, in Fuels, Lubricants, and
Coolant Section.
IMPORTANT: Do not use PLUS-50 oil or engine oils
meeting any of the following during the
first 100 hours of operation of a new or
rebuilt engine:
API CI-4 PLUS ACEA CF
API CI-4 ACEA E7
API CH-4 ACEA E6
API CG-4 ACEA E5
API CF-4 ACEA E4
API CF-2 ACEA E3
These oils will not allow the engine to
break-in properly.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT fill above the crosshatch
pattern (A) or the FULL mark, whichever
is present. Oil levels anywhere within
the crosshatch are considered in the
acceptable operating range.
