Husqvarna 305 Lawn Mower User Manual

4. USE
4.2 Using the timer
The lawn should not be cut too often to obtain the best
mowing result. Use the timer function (see 6.3 Timer
on page 44.) to avoid a downtrodden lawn. When
setting the timer, calculate that the robotic lawnmower
mows about 54 square yards (45 m
2
) per hour and day
(about 36 square yard [30 m
2
] for Automower
®
305).
Example
If the working area is 0.09 acre (360 m
2
) the
robotic lawnmower must operate for about 8 hours
per day (about 12 hours for the Automower
®
305).
The times are approximate and depend for
instance on grass quality, blade sharpness and
battery age.
The factory setting for the timer is 05:00-24:00
(07:00-23:00 for the Automower
®
305) and it allows
mowing every day of the week. This setting is
suitable for a working area of about 0.2 acre (800 m
2
)
(0.125 acre [500 m
2
] for the Automower
®
305).
If the size of the working area allows it, the quality of
the grass can be further improved if it is cut every
other day instead of a few hours every day. In
addition, the grass benefits from resting completely
during at least a three-day period once a month.
Standby
The robotic lawnmower has an inbuilt standby
period of about 6 hours a day (8 hours for the
Automower
®
305). The standby period provides a
good opportunity, for example, to water or play
games on the lawn.
Example 1
The times used in this example are applicable to
the Automower
®
305 but the principle is the same
for the Automower
®
308.
Work period 1: 07:00 - 23:00
Work days: All days
The factory setting ensures that the robotic
lawnmower begins cutting the lawn at 07.00.
The mower is parked in the charging station from
22.00 and rests until it starts cutting again at
07.00
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Use the timer to avoid mowing when there
are usually children, pets and anything else
that could be damaged by the rotating blades
on the lawn.
