counterclockwisetothe STOPposition.

setparkingbrake,stopengineand removekeyto preventunintended
starting.
Priorto operatingthetractor,referto bothSafetyInterlockSwitchesand
StartingTheEnginein the Operationsectionofthismanualfor detailed
instructionsregardingthe IgnitionSwitchModuleandoperatingthe
tractorinREVERSECAUTONMODE. j
DRIVE PEDAL
Thedrivepedalis locatedon the rightsideof the
tractor,alongthe runningboard.Pressthedrive
pedalforwardto causethetractorto travelforward.
Groundspeedisalsocontrolledwiththe drivepedal.
Thefurtherforwardthat thepedalis pivoted,the
fasterthetractorwilltravel.The pedalwillreturnto
itsoriginalpositionwhen it'snot pressed.
REVERSE PEDAL
The reversepedalislocatedonthe rightsideof the
tractoralongtherunningboard. Groundspeedis
alsocontrolledwiththe reversepedal.Thefurther
downwardthe pedalis pivoted,thefasterthe
tractorwilltravel.Thepedalwill returnto itsoriginal
positionwhenit'snot pressed.

SYSTEMS INDICATOR MONITOR/HOUR
METER LCD
Whentheignitionkeyis
rotatedout oftheSTOP
positionbut notintothe START
position,thesystem'sindicator
monitordisplaysthebattery's
output,in volts,on its LCDfor
approximatelyfiveseconds,
afterwhichit displaysan hour
glassandthehoursof tractor
operation.Oncethetractoris
started,the monitorcontinually
displaysan hourglassandthe

hoursoftractoroperationon itsLCD.
NOTE: Hoursoftractoroperationarerecordedanytimethe ignition
keyis rotatedout oftheSTOPposition,regardlessof whetherthe
engineis started.
The IndicatorMonitorwillalso remindtheoperatorof maintenance
intervalsforchangingtheengineoil. TheLCDwill alternatelyflash
the recordedhours,"CHG"and"OIL."forfiveminutes,afterevery50
hoursof recordedoperationelapse.Themaintenanceintervallasts
for two hours(from50-52, 100-102,150-152,etc.).The LCDwill also
flashas describedaboveforfiveminuteseverytimethe tractor's
enginehasbeenstartedduringthismaintenanceinterval.Beforethe
intervalexpires,changetheengineoilas instructedintheServiceand
Maintenancesectionof thisOperator'sManual.
Brake
if theBrakelightilluminateswhenattemptingto startthetractor's
engine,depressthebrakepedal.
PTO (Blade Engage)
Ifthe PTOlightilluminateswhenattemptingto startthe tractor's
engine,movePTOknobinto thedisengaged(OFF)position.
Oil
Itis normalfortheOillightto illuminatewhile theengineis cranking
duringstart-up,but ifit illuminatesduringoperation,whilethe engineis
running,stopthetractorimmediatelyandcheckthe engineoil levelas
instructedinthis Operator'sManual.
Battery
Itis normalfortheBatterylight toilluminatewhilethe engineis
crankingduringstart-up,but ifit illuminatesduringoperation,whilethe
engineis running,thebatteryis inneedof a chargeortheengine's
chargingsystemisnotgeneratingsufficientamperage.Chargethe
batteryasinstructedin the Servicesectionofthismanualor havethe
chargingsystemcheckedbyaSearsor otherqualifiedservicedealer.
