Moving The Tractor Manually
Yourtractor'stransmissionis equippedwitha hydrostaticreliefvalve
for occasionswhenitis necessarytomovethe tractormanually.Open-
ingthisvalvepermitsthefluidin the transmissionto bypassits normal
route,allowingthereartiresto "freewheel."Toopenthe hydrostatic
reliefvalve,proceedasfollows:
1. Locatethe hydrostaticbypassrodinthe rearofthetractor.See
Figure1.
Shipping Brace Removal
Makesurethelawntractor'sengineisoff, setthe parkingbrakeand
removethe ignitionkeybeforeremovingthe shippingbrace.
1. Locatethe shippingbrace,if present,andwarningtag foundon
the rightsideofthe cuttingdeck.SeeFigure2.

2. Pullthe hydrostaticbypassrodoutward,then down,to lockit in
place.
NOTE:ThetransmissionwillNOTengagewhenthe hydrostatic
bypassrodispulledout. Returnthe rodto itsnormalpositionpriorto
operatingthe tractor.

Whileholdingthedischargechutecoverwithyourleft hand,
removethe shippingbracewithyourright handbygraspingit
betweenyourthumband indexfingerand rotatingit clockwise.
The shippingbraceis usedfor packagingpurposesonly.Remove
anddiscardthe shippingbracebeforeoperatingyour lawntractor.
Neverattemptto movethetractormanuallywithoutfirstopeningthe
hydrostaticreliefvalve.Doingsowill resultinseriousdamagetothe
tractor'stransmission.
The mowingdeckiscapableof throwingobjects.Operatingthe riding
mowerwithoutthedischargecoverin theproperoperatingposition
could resultin seriouspersonalinjuryand/orpropertydamage.
