subjects at all. Just let them do their thing
and capture their images as they would be
in their natural environment. This type of
portraiture is more commonly known as an
environmental portrait.

traits see Chapter 6.
Photojournalistic style posing has become
increasingly popular in wedding photography
in the past few years, and I attribute that to
the advent of digital photography. Wedding
photographers traditionally used standard,
conservative poses; however, in the past
few years, a crop of new, adventurous pho-
tographers using photojournalism tech-
niques in their wedding work have
emerged, slowly replacing the traditional
posed wedding photography.
When engaged in a photojournalistic photo
session, asking the client up front what his
or her expectations are is best. Ask your
clients to describe the types of portraits they
would prefer. This information helps you
request certain behavior of your clients
when you’re taking their portraits.
Glamour style
Glamour posing is what you expect to see
on the cover of a trendy or fashion maga-
zine or in the fashion pages within a maga-
zine. Simply put, glamour photography is
supposed to be sexy. I’m not referring to
nude images; you can accomplish a sensual
photograph without showing a lot of skin or
any skin at all.
