YOUR WARRANTY RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS
TheCaliforniaAir ResourcesBoardandMTDConsumerGroupIncare pleasedtoexplaintheevaporativeemissioncontrolsystemwarrantyonyour2006lawn
mower.InCalifornia,newlawnmowermust bedesigned,builtandequippedtomeettheState'sstringentanti-smogstandards.MTDConsumerGroupIncmust
warrantthe EECSon yourlawnmowerfor the periodoftime listedbelowprovidedthere hasbeenno abuse,neglector impropermaintenanceofyour lawnmower.
YourEECSmayincludepartssuchas thecarburetor,fuel-injectionsystem,the ignitionsystem,catalyticconverter,fueltanks,fuel lines,fuelcaps,valves,
canisters,filters,vaporhoses,clamps,connectors,and otherassociatedemission-relatedcomponents.
Wherea warrantable condition exists, MTDConsumer Group Inc will repair your lawnmower at no cost to you includingdiagnosis, partsand labor.
MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY COVERAGE:
Thisevaporativeemissioncontrolsystemiswarrantedfor twoyears.Ifanyevaporativeemission-relatedparton yourequipmentisdefective,the partwill be
repairedor replacedbyMTDConsumerGroupInc.
OWNER'S WARRANTY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Asthe lawnmowerowner,youare responsibleforperformanceofthe requiredmaintenancelistedin yourowner'smanual. MTDConsumerGroupIncrecom-
mendsthat youretainall receiptscoveringmaintenanceonyourlawnmower,but MTDConsumerGroup Inccannotdenywarrantysolelyforthe lack ofreceipts.
Asthe lawnmowerowner,youshouldhoweverbeawarethat MTDConsumerGroupIncmaydeny youwarrantycoverageif yourlawnmoweror a parthasfailed
dueto abuse,neglect,orimpropermaintenanceor unapprovedmodifications.
Youare responsiblefor presentingyourlawnmowertoMTDConsumerGroupInc'sdistributioncenteror servicecenterassoonas the problemexists.The
warrantyrepairsshouldbecompletedin a reasonableamountoftime, nottoexceed30 days.Ifyouhavea questionregardingyour warrantycoverage,youshould
contactthe MTDConsumerGroupIncServiceDepartmentat 1-800-800-7310.
GENERAL EMISSIONS WARRANTY COVERAGE:
MTDConsumerGroupIncwarrantstothe ultimatepurchaserand eachsubsequentpurchaserthat the lawnmoweris:Designed,builtandequippedsoas to
conformwithall applicableregulations;andfreefrom defectsin materialsand workmanshipthatcausethe failureofawarrantedpartto beidenticalinallmaterial
respectstothat partas describedin MTDConsumerGroupInc'sapplicationfor certification.
Thewarrantyperiodbeginsonthedatethe lawnmoweris deliveredtoan ultimatepurchaseror firstplaced intoservice.Thewarrantyperiodistwoyears.
Subjecttocertainconditionsand exclusionsas statedbelow,the warrantyonemission-relatedpartsisas follows:
1. Anywarrantedpartthat isnotscheduledfor replacementasrequiredmaintenanceinthe writteninstructionssupplied,iswarrantedfor thewarrantyperiod
statedabove.Ifthe partfails duringthe periodofwarrantycoverage,the partwillbe repairedor replacedby MTDConsumerGroupIncaccordingto subsection
(4)below.Anysuchpart repairedor replacedunderwarrantywillbe warrantedfor the remainderofthe period.
2. Anywarrantedpartthat isscheduledonlyfor regularinspectioninthe writteninstructionssuppliediswarrantedfor thewarrantyperiodstatedabove.Anysuch
partrepairedor replacedunderwarrantywill bewarrantedfor the remainingwarrantyperiod.
3. Anywarrantedpartthat isscheduledfor replacementas requiredmaintenancein thewritteninstructionssuppliediswarrantedforthe periodoftime beforethe
firstscheduledreplacementdatefor that part.Ifthe partfails beforethe firstscheduledreplacement,the partwillbe repairedor replacedby MTDConsumer
GroupIncaccordingto subsection(4)below.Anysuch partrepairedor replacedunderwarrantywillbewarrantedforthe remainderofthe periodpriortothe
firstscheduledreplacementpointforthe part.
4. Repairor replacementofanywarrantedpart underthe warrantyprovisionshereinmustbeperformedata warrantystationatno chargetotheowner.
5. Notwithstandingthe provisionsherein,warrantyservicesorrepairswill beprovidedatall ofourdistributioncentersthatarefranchisedtoservicethe subject
enginesor equipment.
6. Thelawnmowerownerwillnot bechargedfor diagnosticlaborthat is directlyassociatedwithdiagnosisofadefective,emission-relatedwarrantedpart,
providedthat suchdiagnosticworkis performedatawarrantystation.
7. MTDConsumerGroupIncisliablefor damagestootherengineor equipmentcomponentsproximatelycausedbyafailureunderwarrantyofanywarranted
part.
8. Throughoutthe lawnmowerwarrantyperiodstatedabove,MTDConsumerGroupIncwill maintaina supplyof warrantedpartssufficientto meetthe expected
demandfor suchparts.
9. Anyreplacementpartmaybe usedinthe performanceof anywarrantymaintenanceorrepairsand mustbe providedwithoutchargetothe owner.Suchusewill
notreducethe warrantyobligationsofMTDConsumerGroupInc.
10.Add-onor modifiedpartsthatarenotexemptedbythe Air ResourcesBoardmaynot beused.Theuseofany non-exemptedadd-onor modifiedpartsby the
ultimatepurchaserwillbegroundsfor disallowingawarrantyclaims.MTDConsumerGroup Incwill notbe liabletowarrantfailuresof warrantedpartscaused
bythe useofa non-exemptedadd-onor modifiedpart.
WARRANTED PARTS:
Therepairor replacementofanywarrantedpartotherwiseeligiblefor warrantycoveragemaybeexcludedfromsuchwarrantycoverageifMTDConsumerGroup
Incdemonstratesthat the lawnmowerhasbeenabused,neglected,or improperlymaintained,andthat suchabuse,neglect,or impropermaintenancewasthe
directcauseofthe needfor repairor replacementofthe part.Thatnotwithstanding,anyadjustmentofacomponentthathasafactory installed,and properly
operating,adjustmentlimitingdeviceisstilleligiblefor warrantycoverage.Thefollowingemissionwarrantypartslistarecovered:FuelLine,FuelLineClamps
