substitute(non-OEM)V-beltcan bedangerousbynot
disengagingcompletely.Fora properworkingmachine,
usefactoryapprovedbelts.

Tochangeor replacethedeckbelt onyourtractor,
proceedas follows:
1. Removethe beltkeeperrod(s)fromaroundthe
enginepulley.
Removethecuttingdeckas instructedearlierinthis
section.
Removethe beltguardsby removingtheself-tapping
screwsthatfastenthemto thedeck.

Carefullyloosen,butdo notremove,thedeckidler
pulleys.
Removethedeckbeltfromaroundall pulleys,including
thedeckidlerpulleysandthe electricPTOclutch(units
withelectricPTO).
Routethenewbelt asshownin Figure26,27,and28
andretightenthedeckidlerpulleys.
Reinstallthe beltguardsremovedearlierand remount
thedeckto thetractor.
Routethebeltaroundtheenginepulleyand reinstall
thebeltkeeperrod(s).
