YOUR WARRANTY RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS
MTDConsumerGroupInc,the UnitedStatesEnvironmentalProtectionAgency(EPA),and,forthose productscertifiedfor sale in the stateof California,the
CaliforniaAir ResourcesBoard(CARB)are pleasedto explainthe emission(evaporativeand/orexhaust)controlsystem(ECS)warrantyonyouroutdoor2006
andlatersmalloff-roadspark-ignitedengineandequipment(outdoorequipmentengine)In California,newoutdoorequipmentenginesmustbedesigned,built and
equippedto meetthe State'sstringentanti-smogstandards(inotherstates, 1997andlatermodelyear equipmentmustbedesigned,built,andequippedto meet
theU.S. EPAsmalloff-road,sparkignitionengineregulations.MTDConsumerGroupIncmustwarrantthe ECSonyour outdoorequipmentenginefor the periodof
timelisted belowprovidedtherehasbeenno abuse,neglector impropermaintenanceofoutdoorequipmentengine.
YourECSmayincludeparts suchas thecarburetor,fuel-injectionsystem,the ignitionsystem,catalyticconverter,fuel tanks,fuel lines,fuel caps,valves,canisters,
filters,vaporhoses,clamps,connectors,andotherassociatedemission-relatedcomponents.
Wherea warrantableconditionexists, MTDConsumerGroupIncwill repairyouroutdoorequipmentengineat nocosttoyouincludingdiagnosis,parts and labor.
MAN UFACTURER'S WARRANTY COVERAGE:
Thisemissioncontrolsystemiswarrantedfor two years.If anyemission-relatedpartonyour outdoorequipmentengineisdefective,the part will berepairedor
replacedby MTDCONSUMERGROUPINC.
OWNER'S WARRANTY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Asthe outdoorequipmentengineowner,youare responsiblefor performanceof the requiredmaintenancelisted inyour owner'smanual.MTDConsumerGroup
Inc recommendsthat youretainallreceiptscoveringmaintenanceon youroutdoorequipmentengine,butMTDConsumerGroupInccannotdeny warrantysolely
forthe lackof receipts.
Asthe outdoorequipmentengineowner,youshouldhoweverbe awarethat MTDConsumerGroupIncmaydenyyouwarrantycoverageifyour outdoorequipment
engineor a part hasfaileddue toabuse,neglect,or impropermaintenanceor unapprovedmodifications.
Youare responsiblefor presentingyouroutdoorequipmentengineto MTDConsumerGroupInc'sdistributioncenterorservicecenteras soon asthe problem
exists.Thewarrantyrepairsshouldbe completedin a reasonableamountof time, nottoexceed30 days.If youhavea questionregardingyour warrantycoverage,
youshouldcontactthe MTDConsumerGroupIncService Departmentat 1-800-800-7310orvia emailat http://support.mtdproducts.com
GENERAL EMISSIONS WARRANTY COVERAGE:
MTDConsumerGroupIncwarrantsto the ultimatepurchaserand eachsubsequentpurchaserthat theoutdoorequipmentengineis: Designed,builtand equipped
so asto conformwithall applicableregulations;and freefromdefectsin materialsand workmanshipthatcausethe failureof a warrantedpartto be identicalin all
materialrespectsto that partas describedin MTDConsumerGroup Inc'sapplicationfor certification.
Thewarrantyperiodbeginson thedate theoutdoorequipmentengineisdeliveredto anultimatepurchaserorfirst placedintoservice.The warrantyperiodistwo
years.
Subjectto certainconditionsand exclusionsasstatedbelow,the warrantyonemission-relatedpartsis asfollows:
1. Anywarrantedpartthat is notscheduledfor replacementas requiredmaintenancein thewritten instructionssupplied,iswarrantedforthe warrantyperiod
statedabove.Ifthe part fails duringthe periodofwarrantycoverage,thepartwill berepairedor replacedbyMTDConsumerGroupInc accordingto subsection
(4)below.Anysuchpart repairedor replacedunderwarrantywillbewarrantedfor the remainderof the period.
2. Anywarrantedpartthat is scheduledonly for regularinspectionin the writteninstructionssupplied iswarrantedforthe warrantyperiodstatedabove.Any such
partrepairedor replacedunderwarrantywill bewarrantedforthe remainingwarrantyperiod.
3. Anywarrantedpartthat is scheduledfor replacementas requiredmaintenancein thewritteninstructionssuppliedis warrantedfor the periodoftimebeforethe
firstscheduledreplacementdatefor that part.If the partfails beforethefirst scheduledreplacement,the partwill berepairedor replacedby MTDConsumer
GroupIncaccordingto subsection(4)below.Anysuchpart repairedor replacedunderwarrantywill be warrantedfor the remainderof the periodpriortothe
firstscheduledreplacementpointfor the part.
4. Repairor replacementofany warrantedpart underthe warrantyprovisionshereinmustbeperformedata warrantystationat no chargetothe owner.
5. Notwithstandingthe provisionsherein,warrantyservicesor repairswill beprovidedat allof our distributioncentersthatare franchisedtoservicethe subject
enginesor equipment.
6. Theoutdoorequipmentengineownerwill notbe chargedfor diagnosticlaborthat is directlyassociatedwithdiagnosisof a defective,emission-relatedwar-
rantedpart, providedthat suchdiagnosticworkis performedata warrantystation.
7. MTDConsumerGroupInc isliablefor damagesto otherengineor equipmentcomponentsproximatelycausedby a failureunderwarrantyof anywarranted
part.
8. Throughoutthe off-roadengineand equipmentwarrantyperiodstatedabove,MTDConsumerGroupInc will maintaina supplyofwarrantedpartssufficientto
meetthe expecteddemandfor suchparts.
9. Anyreplacementpart maybe usedinthe performanceof anywarrantymaintenanceor repairsand mustbeprovidedwithoutchargetothe owner.Suchuse will
notreducethe warrantyobligationsof MTDConsumerGroupInc.
10.Add-onor modifiedpartsthat are notexemptedbythe AirResourcesBoardmaynot beused.The useofany non-exemptedadd-on or modifiedpartsbythe
ultimatepurchaserwill begroundsfor disallowinga warrantyclaims.MTDConsumerGroup Incwill notbe liabletowarrantfailuresof warrantedparts caused
bythe useof a non-exemptedadd-onor modifiedpart.
