TRACTOR SET-UP
Moving The Tractor Manually
Yourtractor'stransmissionis equippedwitha hydrostaticreliefvalve
for occasionswhenit is necessaryto movethetractormanually.Open-
ingthisvalvepermitsthe fluidin the transmissionto bypassits normal
route,allowingthereartiresto "freewheel."Toopenthehydrostatic
reliefvalve,proceedas follows:
1. Locatethe hydrostaticbypassrodinthe rearof thetractor.See
Figure1.
Shipping Brace Removal
Makesurethe lawntractor'sengineisoff, setthe parkingbrakeand
removetheignitionkeybeforeremovingtheshippingbrace.
1. Locatetheshippingbrace,if present,andwarningtag foundon
the rightsideof the cuttingdeck.SeeFigure2.

2. Pullthe hydrostaticbypassrodoutward,then down,to lockit in
place.
NOTE:The transmissionwill NOTengagewhenthe hydrostatic
bypassrodis pulledout. Returntherodto itsnormalpositionpriorto
operatingthe tractor.

Whileholdingthe dischargechutecoverwithyourleft hand,
removetheshippingbracewithyourright handbygraspingit
betweenyourthumband indexfingerand rotatingit clockwise.
The shippingbraceisusedfor packagingpurposesonly.Remove
anddiscardthe shippingbracebeforeoperatingyour lawntractor.
Neverattemptto movethetractormanuallywithoutfirst openingthe
hydrostaticreliefvalve.Doingsowillresultinseriousdamageto the
tractor'stransmission.
The mowingdeckiscapableof throwingobjects.Operatingtheriding
mowerwithoutthedischargecoverin theproperoperatingposition
could resultin seriouspersonalinjuryand/orpropertydamage.
