Shutthe engineoff, removetheignitionkeyandengagethe parking
brakebeforemakingadjustments.Protectyour handsby usingheavy
gloveswhenhandlingthe blades.

Leveling the Deck (Front To Rear)
Thefrontof the cuttingdeckis supportedbya stabilizerbarthatcan
beadjustedto levelthe deckfromfronttorear.Thefrontofthedeck
shouldbebetween1/4-inchand3/8-inchlowerthantherearofthe
deck.Adjustif necessaryasfollows:
1. Parkthe tractorparkedona firm,levelsurfaceandplacethe deck
lift leverinthe middleposition.
2. Rotatethebladenearestthe dischargechutecoversothatit is
parallelwiththe tractor.
3. Measurethedistancefromthe frontof the bladetiptothe ground
andthe rearof thebladetiptotheground.Thefirstmeasurement
takenshouldbebetween1/4"and 3/8"lessthan thesecond
measurement.
Determinetheapproximatedistancenecessaryforproperadjustment
and proceed,if necessary.
1. To raisethe frontof the deck,tighten(threadinward)thelocknut
againstthe fronthangerbracket.See Figure27.
2. To lowerthe frontof the deck,loosen(threadoutward)the lock
nut,awayfromthe fronthangerbracket.

Leveling the Deck (Side to Side)
Ifthe cuttingdeckappearstobe mowingunevenly,a sideto side
adjustmentcanbeperformed.Adjustif necessaryasfollows:
1. Withthe tractorparkedona firm, levelsurface,placethe decklift
leverin the middlepositionand rotatebothbladesso thattheyare
perpendicularwiththe tractor.
2. Measurethedistancefromthe outsideoftheleft bladetiptothe
groundandthe distancefromtheoutsideof the rightbladetip to
the ground.Bothmeasurementstakenshouldbeequal.Ifthey're
not, proceedto the nextstep.
