Allbeltsonyourtractorare subjecttowearandshouldbe replacedif
anysignsofweararepresent.

IMPORTANT:Donotusesubstitutebelts.Thebeltfoundonyour
tractorisspeciallydesignedforoptimalperformanceandservicelife
foryourdeckapplication.UseonlyOEMoriginalreplacementbelts.
Toreplacethe PTObelt,proceedasfollows:
1. Removethedeckfrombeneaththetractor(referto CuttingDeck
Removal).
2. ManeuverthePTObeltdownwardandofftheidlerpulleyonthe
springloadedidlerbracket.
NOTE:It maybe necessarytoloosenthehexcapscrewandflange
locknutsecuringthepulleytotheidlerbrackettofitthe beltbetween
thepulleyand bracket.Slidethebeltbetweenthebottomoftheidler
pulleyandtopofthetimingbeltidlerpulleybelow.SeeFigure22.

3. Loopthebeltand pushoutof theV- grooveofthedrivepulleyon
therighthandspindleassembly.Liftthebeltoverthepulleyand
outfrombeneaththespindlecover.SeeFigure22.
4. LoopthenewPTObeltandslidebetweenthetopofthedrive
pulleyandspindlecover.Maneuverthebeltaroundandintothe
V-grooveofthedrivepulley.
5. Routethebacksideof thebeltaroundidlerpulleyandbetween
theidlerpulleyandidlerbracket.Re-tightenthehexscrewand
flangelock nutifloosenedearlier.Referto Figure22.
6. Routethebeltaroundthefixedidlerpulleyasshownin Figure22
and re-installthedeckasdescribedin "ReinstallingtheCutting
Deck"laterinthis section.
Timing Belt
Toreplacethetimingbelt,proceedasfollows:
1. Removethedeckfrombeneaththetractor(refertoCuttingDeck
Removal).
2. RemovethePTObeltdrivepulleyofthe righthandspindle
assemblyasdescribedin "PTOBelt."
3. Removethehexscrew,flatwasher,lockwasher,shoulderspacer,
andflangelocknutthatmakeup theidlerbracketbackstop.Refer
to Figure21above.
NOTE:Itmaybenecessaryto cleantheundersideofthemowingdeck
toaccessthehexscrew.
