system.Itis normalforsomeforwardmovementofthetractortooccur
whenthebrakeisreleased.

MovethethrottleleverintotheFAST(rabbit)position.
Totravelforward:Slowlydepresstheforwarddrivecontrolpedal

slowlydepressthe reversedrivecontrolpedaluntilthedesired

4. Releasethedepresseddrivepedalanddepressthebrakepedal
tostopthetractor.
DonotleavetheseatofthetractorwithoutfirstplacingthePTO/
BladeEngageknobin thedisengaged(OFF)positionandengaging
theparkingbrake.If leavingthetractorunattended,alsoturnthe
_engne offand removethe gnton key.
1. Thesteeringwheelrotatesapproximatelytwofullturnsfromits
stoppingpointonone sidetoits stoppingpointontheother,with
thecenterpositionbeingthestraightaheadposition.
2. Minorturnsofthesteeringwheelfromthecenterposition
(approximately100to 150) turnonlythefrontaxlesandwillresult
in widerturns.
3. Increasingtheturnofthesteeringwheel(beyond100.150) results
in increasinglytighterturns.Asthesteeringmechanismturnsthe
frontwheels,italsochangesthepositionof thetransmissiondrive
controllinkagetoslowdowntheinnerrearwheelin theturn,and
adjuststhespeedof theouterwheelasnecessaryto complete
thedesiredturn.Turnthesteeringwheelbacktothecenter
positionastheturniscompleted.
NOTE:Itisnotnecessaryto releasethedrivepedalwhenmakinga
turn.Thechangetothetransmissionlinkageoccursregardlessofhow
farthedrivepedalisdepressed.Whenthesteeringwheelis straight-
ened,thetractorwillreturntothespeedsetbythedrivepedal.
4. Turningthesteeringwheelfullytoits stopineitherdirection
willfullyturnthefrontwheels,reversethedirectionoftheinner
wheelandadjusttheouterwheelspeedtoexecuteazeroturnin
thechosendirection.Turnthe steeringwheelbackto thecenter
positionastheturniscompleted.
NOTE:Thesteeringwheelhastobeturnedall thewayUNTILIT
STOPStocompleteazeroturn.Asthesteeringwheelisturnedfurther
towardits stop,theeffortneededtoturnthesteeringwheelincreases.
IMPORTANT:Makingtightor zeroturnsongrasswillgreatlyincrease
thepotentialfordamageto theturf.
DRIVING ON SLOPES
IMPORTANT:RefertotheSLOPEGAUGEonpage8 tohelpdeter-
mineslopeswhereyoumayoperatethetractorsafely.
Mowupanddownslopes,neveracross.
Watchforholes,ruts,bumps,rocks,orotherhiddenobjects.
Uneventerraincouldoverturnthemachine.Tallgrasscanhide
obstacles.
Avoidturnswhendrivingon aslope,if a turnmustbe made,turn
downhillon theslope.Turninguphillincreasesthepossibilityofa
tractorrollover.
Avoidstoppingwhendrivingup aslope,if itis necessarytostop
whiledrivingupa slope,startupsmoothlyandcarefullyto reduce
thepossibilityofflippingthetractoroverbackward.
STEERING THE TRACTOR
YourRevolutiontractorisequippedwithan innovativesteeringsystem.
Turningthesteeringwheelnotonlyturnsthefrontwheels,butalso
adjuststhepositionofthedrivecontrollinkageofthetransmissions
thatdrivethetractor.Thissteeringsystemallowsyoutovarythe radius
ofturnsfroma normalwideU-turndowntoa zeroturn(a tight"about-
face"turn).Somepracticemaybe neededtobecomeaccustomedto
thesteeringofyourtractor.Thesteeringworksasfollows:
ENGAGING THE PARKING BRAKE
NOTE:Theparkingbrakemustbe setiftheoperatorleavestheseat
withtheenginerunningor theenginewillautomaticallyshutoff.
Tosettheparkingbrake:
1. Pressthe brakepedalcompletelydownwithyourIdt footand
holdit thatposition.
2. Pushtheparkingbrakeleverdownwardandholditin that
position.
