EFFECT EDIT MODE
Type
Settings: THRU, DISTORTION, OVERDRIVE, 3-BAND EQ
This determines the Distortion Type. Distortion and Overdrive have
the same parameters, while the Three-band EQ program has a com-
pletely different set of parameters.
Distortion provides a rich, hard-edged distortion sound. Overdrive recreates
the warm, natural sound of a tube amp being overdriven. Both include tone
controls for the high frequencies. The Three-band EQ program provides
fine tone control of the sound in three separate frequency bands, and in-
cludes special frequency and bandwidth controls for the mid-range.
NOTE
When Thru is selected, no Distortion or EQ is applied, and none of the parameters are avail-
able (with the exception of the Distortion Part parameter).
Dry/Wet Balance
Range: D63>W … (D=W) … D<W63
This determines the balance between the direct, unprocessed signal
(dry) and the Distortion-processed sound (wet). Use this parameter
together with the Output Level parameter above to obtain the de-
sired overall sound.
Distortion Part (Dist Part)
Range: Part 1 … 32, AD 1, AD 2, off
This determines the Part to which the Distortion effect is applied.
Distortion can be applied to only one Part at a time.
HINT
If you wish to use Distortion on one Part and yet have Overdrive on another Part, you can
use the Distortion or Overdrive effect in the Variation section. (See page 89.)
