season;replaceevery100hoursof operation.

plug.Sparkplugshouldbecleanedbyscrapingorwirebrushing
andwashingwitha commercialsolvent.
,, Removeand inspectthesparkplug.Checkgap tomakesureit is

,, Replacethesparkplugifelectrodesarepitted,burned,or the
porcelainiscracked.
Servicing the Air Cleaner

Theair cleanerpreventsdamagingdirt, dust,etc.,fromenteringthe
carburetorandbeingforcedintotheengineandis importantto engine
lifeand performance.Theair cleanerconsistsof apleatedfilterand
a pre-cleanerthatcan bewashedandreused.Neverruntheengine
withoutan aircleanercompletelyassembled.
Cleanorreplacetheair cleanerevery25hoursofoperation.
1. Loosenscrewsthatholdtheairfiltercover.
2. Opencoverandremovecartridge.SeeFigure12.
3. Removepre-cleanerfromthecartridge.Discardoldcartridge.
4. Installnewcartridge.Installlip onpre-cleanerat the bottomof
cartridgepleats.
5. Closethe coverandtightenscrews.
NOTE:If thefilter istorn or damagedin anyway,replaceit.

Check Engine Oil
1. Stopengineandwaitseveralminutesbeforecheckingoil level.
Withengineon levelground,theoil mustbeto FULLmarkon
dipstick.
2. Removeoil fill dipstickandwipecleanwithcloth.
3. Replaceandtightendipstick.Removeandcheckoil level.Level
shouldbe atFULLmark.
4. Ifneeded,add oilslowly- recheck.Donotoverfill.
5. Wipe dipstickclean,replaceandtighten.Removeand checkoil
level.OillevelshouldbeatFULLlineondipstick.
Donotoverfil.Overfillingwithoilmaycausethe engineto notstart,
or hardstarting.Ifover the FULLmarkon thedipstick,drainoilto
reduceoil leveltoFULLmarkondipstick.
