SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
S Check that the trimmer head and guard
are correctly secured.
S Whenadjust ing the carburetor, make sure
the lower end is suppor ted and that no one
is in the immediate vicinity.
S Make sure the cutting head does not rotate
when idling.
S Make sure the handle and safety features
are in order. Never use a machine that has
parts missing or has been changed in
relation tothe specification.
S Only use themachine for the purpose for
whichit was intended.
Starting
S Ens ure that all of the engine covers and
housings are properly fitted beforethe unit
is started.
S Never start or attempt to run the unit with
the clutch, clutchdrum, clutch cover, or
driveshaft removed.
S Never start the machine indoors. Exhaust
fumes can be dangerous if inhaled.
S Observe your surroundings and make sure
that thereis no risk of people or animals
coming into contac t with thecut ting equip-
ment.

complete instructions.
Fuel safety
S Always usea fuel container with an anti--
spill valve.
S Never refuel the machine while the engine
is running.
S Always stop the engine and let it cool for a
few minutes beforerefueling.
S Make sure there is plenty of ventilation
when refueling or mixing fuel(gasoline and
2--strokeoil).
S Move the machine at least 10 feet (3me-
ters) from the refuelingpoint before st a rt-
ing it.
S Never start the machine:
S If you have spilledfuel on it. Wipe off
the spillage a nd allow remaining fuel to
evaporate.
S If you have spilledfuel on yourself or
your clothes, change your clothes. W as
h
any part of yo ur body that has come in
contact with fuel. Use soap and water.
WARNING: When the engine is
startedwiththechokeineitherthe
choke or start throttle positions the
cutting attachment will start to
rotate immediately.

S If the machine is leakingfuel. Check
regularly for leaks from the fuel cap
and fuel lines.
S Avoid all skin co ntact wit h fuel. Fuel is
a ski n irritant and may even cause ski n
damage.
Transporting and storage
S Store and transport the machineand fuel
so that there is no risk of any leakage or
fumes coming into contact with spark s or
naked flames, for example, from electri-
cal machinery, electric motors, electrical
relays/switches or boilers.
S Whenst oring and transpor ting fuel al-
ways use approv ed containers intended
for this purpose.
S Whenst oring the machinefor long peri-
ods the fuel tank must b e emptied. Con-
tact your local gas st ation to find out
where to dispose of excess fuel.
S Ens ure the machine is cleaned and that
a complete service is carried out before
long--term storage.

encounter a situat ion where yo u are uncer-
tain how to proc eed you should ask an ex-
pert. Cont act you r ser vici ng dealer .
Avoid all usage which you con sider to be
beyond you r capab ility.
You must underst and the difference betw een
forestry clearing, grass clearing and grass
trimming before use.
Basic safety rules
1. Look around you:
S To ensure that people, animals or other
things cannot af fect your control of the
machine.
S To ensure that people, animals, etc.,
do not come into contact with the cut -
ting attachment or loose objects that
are throw n out by the cutting attach-
ment.
WARNING: Take care when han-
dling fuel. Bear in mind the risk of
fire, explosion and inhaling fumes.
