Gasoline/oil mixture recommenda-
tions
Store yo ur gasoline or gasoline/oilmixt ure
in a cool, dry areain a tightly sealed ap-
provedcont ainer to limit the entry of mois-
ture and additional air (oxygen). Moistur e
and air causethedevelopment o f varnis h
and gum, making the fuel stale. Stored gas-
oline and gasoline/oil mixture ages and
loses its octane rating and volatility. Do not
mix more gasoline/oil than youintendto use
in 30 days, and 60 days when fuel stabilizer
is added. RedMax air--cooled“Max Life”
synt he tic blend premium 2--stroke e ngine oil
contains fuel stabilizer
and will automatical-
ly extend your gasoline/oil mixture life up to
60 days .
CAUTION! Do not use NMMA (Nat ional Ma-
rine Manufact urers Association), BIA (B oating
Industr y Association), and TCW (two-- cyc le
water cooled) oils designe d for mopeds or
outboard, wat er cool ed marine engines. Do
not use AP I (American Petr oleum Instit ute),
TC (2--cycle) label ed oils. The API--TC test
standar d has been discontinued by API in
1995 and it no longer exists.
Mixing
S Always mix the gasoline and oil in a clean
container intended for fuel.
S Always start by flling half the amount of the

amount of oil. Mix (shake) the fuel mixture.
Add the remaining amount of gasoline.
S Mix (shake) the fuel mixture t horoughly be-
fore filling the machine’s fuel tank.
S Do not mix more than one month’s supply
of fuel at a time.
S If the machine is not used for so me time, the
fuel tank should be emptied and cleaned.
Fueling
AVERTISS EMENT! Taking the
followin g precautions will lessen
theriskoffire:
Do not smoke and do not place any
hot objects in the vicinityof fuel.
Alwaysstop the engine and let it
cool for a few minutes before re-
fueling.
When refueling, open the fuel cap
slowly so that any excess pressure
is released gently .
Tighten the fuel cap carefully after
refueling.
Always move the machi ne away fro m
the ref ueling area before starti ng.
W ARNING: Fuel and fuel vapors
are highly flammable. Take care
when handling fuel . Beaware of
the risks of fire, explosion and
those associated with inhalation.

S Clean the area around the fuel cap.
Contamination in the tank cancause
operating problems.
S En sure that the fuel is wel l mixed by shak-
ing the cont ainer before filling the tank.
