Rear Engine Assembly (Mechanical Governor) - 4500
NOTES:
1. Torque to 6-9 ft. lbs.
2. Torque to 14-21 ft. lbs.
3. Torque to 74-88 ft. lbs.
4. Tension belt to 79-124 lbs.
5. Tension belt to 75 lbs.
6. Assemble item 34, bowed fan retaining strap, with one item 35, cap
screw, to center hole in item 31, water pump pulley. Position bowed
strap ends against fan hub face & over unused holes in fan hub.
7. Spark plug wires (not shown) to be routed to clear governor & throttle
linkage.
8. .010-.050 clearance between tip of flywheel tooth to root of starter pinion
tooth.
9. Push item 21, starter motor seal, over starter shaft until firmly against
front surface of starter motor. Use Scotch 3M 1300 adhesive or
equivalent on outside edge of starter motor seal. Seal must contact
starter pilot.
10. When installing item 19, starter motor end shield, make sure it clears
ring gear on flywheel (outboard) upon engagement of starter.
11. Reposition dipstick tube (not shown) to clear engine mount.
12. Used on tractors with serial numbers prior to 02034020.
13. All except items 14 through 17 included in item 12 (713610 Ford
Engine).
