CAUTION: Do not drive up or down
hillswith slopes greater than 15° and do
not drive across any slope.
• Choose the slowest speed before start-
ing up or down hills.
• Avoid stopping or changing speed on
hills.
• If slowingis necessary, move throttle
control lever to slower position.
• If stopping is absolutely necessary, push

• Move gearshift lever to 1stgear. Be
sureyouhave allowedroomfor tractor
to rollslightlyas you restartmovement.

BEFORE STARTING THE ENGINE
CHECK ENGINE OIL LEVEL
• The engineinyourtractor hasbeen
shipped,from the factory, alreadyfilled
withsummerweightoil.
• Checkengineoilwithtractoron level
ground.
• Unthreadand removeoilfillcap/dip-
stick;wipeoiloff.Reinsertthedipstick
intothe tubeand restoilfill cap on the
tube. Do notthreadthe cap ontothe
tube. Remove-andreadoil level. If nec-
essary,add oiluntil =FULL_markon
dipstickis reached. Do notoverfill.
• Forcoldweatheroperationyoushould
change oilforeasierstarting(See "OIL
VISCOSITY CHART"inthe Customer
Responsibilitiessection of thismanua;).
• Tochangeengineoil,see the Customar
Responsibilitiessectioninthismanual.
