Service Air gleaner
Your enginewiil not run properly and may be damagedif you
run it with a dirty air cleaner.
Servicetile air cleaneronce every 25 hours of operation or
once eachyear, whichever comes first. Service more often if
operating under dirty or dusty conditions. Replacementsare
availableatyour iocai Searsservicecenter.
To service the air cleaner, follow these steps:
1. Loosenscrew (A) andtilt cover (B) down.
2. Carefuiiy removecartridge (C)assembiy.
3. Tociean cartridge, gentiy tap pleatedpaper side on a flat
surface.
4. Reinstaiiciean or new cartridge assembly insidecover.
5. Insert cover's tabs ([}) into slots in bottom of base (E).
6. Tilt cover up andtighten screw secureiyto base.

Service Spark Plug
Servicethe spark plug every 100 hours of operation or
yearly, whichever occurs first.
1. Cleanareaaround spark piug.
2. Removeand inspect spark ptug.
3. Repiacespark piug if eiectrodesare pitted, burned or
porcelainis cracked. Usethe recommended replacement
plug. See Specifications.
4. Checkelectrode gapwith wire feeiergauge and setspark
plug gap to 0.030 inch (0.76 mm) if necessary.

5. Instaii spark piug and tighten firmly.

Thespark arrester must be serviced every50 hours to keepit
functioning asdesigned.
If the enginehasbeen running, the muffler wiii be very hot.
Atlow the muffler to cool before servicingthe spark arrester.
