Belt Removal Preparation
Disconnect the chute crank assembly at the discharge
chute end by removing the hairpin clip and the flat
washer. Refer to Figure 7-1.
Remove the hex screws and lock nuts securing the
forward end of the support tubes to the back of the
auger housing, and pivot the tubes upward.
Remove the plastic belt cover on the front of the
engine by removing the three self-tapping screws. See
Figure 7-2.
Loosen the bolt shown in Figure 7-3 securing the belt
keeper bracket and remove the other bolt. Push the
belt keeper bracket up off the engine pulley. Refer to
Figure 7-3.

Auger Belt Replacement
To remove and replace your snow thrower’s auger belt,
proceed as follows:
Remove the hairpin clip and flat washer from the
ferrule in order to disconnect the auger idler rod from
the brake bracket assembly. See Figure 7-4.
NOTE: Make sure to maintain the location of the ferrule
on the idler rod.
Slip the auger control belt (the front belt) off the
engine pulley.
Pull the brake bracket assembly towards the cable
guide roller and unhook the auger cable “Z” fitting.
