Emissions Control System Warranty Statement
{Owner's Defect Warranty Bights and Obligations)
TheCalifornia Air Resources Board(CARB), U.S.EPAand Sears are
pleasedto explainthe Emissions Control System Warranty on your
small offroad engine (SORE).In California, new small offroad
engines model year 2006 and later must be designed, built and
equipped to meetthe State's stringent anti-smog standards.
Elsewherein theUnitedStates,newnon-road,spark-ignitionengines
certifiedfor modelyear1997and latermust meetsimilar standardsset
forth bythe U.S.EPA.Searsmustwarrantthe emissionscontrol
systemonyour enginefor the periodsoftime listedbelow, provided
there hasbeenno abuse,neglector impropermaintenanceof your
smalloff-road engine.
Your emissions control system includesparts such asthe
carburetor, air cleaner,ignition system, fuel line, muffler and
catalytic converter. Also included may beconnectors and other
emissions relatedassemblies.
Wherea warrantable condition exists, Searswill repairyour small
off-road engineat no cost to you including diagnosis, parts and
labor.

Coverage
Small off-road enginesarewarranted relativeto emissions control
parts defects for a period of two years, subject to provisions set
forth below. If any coveredpart on your engineis defective,the part
will be repairedor replacedby Sears.
Owner's Warranty Responsibilities
Asthe small off-road engine owner, you areresponsible for the
performance of the requiredmaintenancelisted inyour Operating
andMaintenance Instructions. Searsrecommends that you retain all
your receiptscovering maintenanceon your small off-road engine,
but Searscannot denywarranty solely for the lackof receipts or for
your failure to ensurethe performance of all scheduledmaintenance.
Asthe small off-road engine owner, you should however beaware
that Sears may denyyou warranty coverage if your small off-road
engine or apart hasfailed dueto abuse,neglect, improper
maintenanceor unapprovedmodifications.
You are responsible for presentingyour small off-road engineto an
Authorized Sears ServiceDealeras soon asa problem exists.
The undisputed warranty repairs should be completed in a
reasonableamount of time, not to exceed30 days.

Theemissions warranty is adefects warranty. Defects arejudged
on normal engine performance. The warranty is not relatedto an in-
use emissions test.

Provisions
Thefollowing arespecific provisions relativeto your Emissions
Control DefectsWarrantyCoverage.It is in addition to the Sears
enginewarranty for non-regulatedenginesfound in the Operatingand
MaintenanceInstructions.
1. Warranted Parts
Coverageunderthis warranty extendsonly to the parts listed
below (theemissions control systemsparts)to the extentthese
parts werepresent onthe enginepurchased.
a. FuelMetering System
* Coldstart enrichment system
* Carburetor andinternal parts
* FuelPump
* Fuelline, fuel line fittings, clamps
. Fueltank, cap and tether
. Carboncanister
b. Air Induction System
. Air cleaner
. Intakemanifold
. Purgeand vent line
c. Ignition System
. Spark plug(s)
. Magneto ignition system
d. Catalyst System
. Catalytic converter
. Exhaustmanifold
. Air injection system, Pulsevalve
e. MiscellaneousItems
. Vacuum, temperature, position, time sensitive valves and
switches
* Connectors and assemblies
2. Lengthof Coverage
Searswarrants to the initial owner and eachsubsequent
purchaserthatthe WarrantedParts shallbefree from defects in
materialsand workmanshipwhich causedthe failure of the
WarrantedPartsfor a period oftwo yearsfrom the datethe
engineis deliveredto a retail purchaser.
3. No Charge
Repairor replacementof any WarrantedPart will be performed
at no chargeto the owner, including diagnostic labor which
leads to the determination that aWarranted Part is defective, if
the diagnostic work is performed at an Authorized Sears
Service Dealer.
4. Claims and Ceverage Exclusions
Warranty claims shall befiled inaccordancewith the provisions
of the Sears EngineWarranty Policy. Warranty coverageshall
be excludedfor failures of Warranted Partswhich are not
original Sears parts or becauseof abuse, neglector improper
maintenanceas set forth in the SearsEngineWarranty Policy.
Searsis not liableto cover failures of Warranted Parts caused
bythe useof add-on, non-original, or modified parts.
5. IV]aintenanse
AnyWarrantedPartwhich is not scheduledfor replacementas
required maintenanceor which is scheduledonly for regular
inspection to the effect of "repair or replaceas necessary"shall
bewarranted asto defectsfor the warranty period.Any
WarrantedPartwhich is scheduledfor replacementas required
maintenanceshall bewarrantedasto defectsonly for the period
of time up to the first scheduledreplacementfor that part. Any
replacementpartthat is equivalentin performanceand durability
may be usedin the performanceof any maintenanceor repairs.
Theowner is responsiblefor the performanceof all required
maintenance,as defined in theSearsOperatingand Maintenance
Instructions.
6. Consequential Coverage
Coveragehereundershall extendto the failure of any engine
components caused by the failure of any Warranted Part still
under warranty.
