HOW TO STOP YOUR UNIT
S Release the throttle trigger.
S Push and release the engine ON/ST OP
swit ch. T h e swit ch wi l l au t o m a t i ca l l y ret u rn to
the ON position. Wait 5 seconds before at-
tempting t o r estar t unit t o a llow switch toreset.

STARTING A COLD ENGINE (or a
warm engine af t er runn i ng out of
fuel )
1. Set unit on a flat surface.
2. Slowly press the pr imer bulb 6 ti mes.
3. Move choke lever to the FULL CHOKE
positi on.

4. Pull st arter rope handle shar ply u ntil engine
sounds as if it is trying to start , but do not
pull rope m ore than 6 t imes.
5. As soon as engine sounds as if itis tr ying to
star t, move choke lever to HA LF CH OKE
positi on.
6. Pull st arter rop e sharply until engine runs,
but no more t han 6 pulls.
NOTE: If the en-
gine doesn ’t st art after 6 pulls (at t he HALF
CHOKE positi on), move the choke leve r to
the FULL CHOKE po siti on and press the
primer bulb 6 t imes. Pull the start er rope 2
more time s. Move the ch o ke lever to the
HALF CHOKE posit ion and pull the st arter
rope until the engine r uns, but no more th an
6 pulls. If the engine still doesn’t start , it is
probably flooded.Proceed to ST ARTING A
FL OODE D ENGI NE.
7. Once the engine starts, allow it to ru n 10
seconds. Squeeze throttl e trigger and a llow
the unit to r un for 30 m ore s econd s at R UN.
Release throttle trigger.
NOTE: If engine
dieswi ththechokelever intheRUNposi-
tion, move the choke lever to FULL
CHOKE thenback to HALF CHOKE and
pull the rope until engine runs, but no
more than 6 pulls.
STARTING A WARM ENGINE
1. Move choke lever to the FULL CHOKE
position, then to the HALF CH OKE posi-
tion to set fast idle.
2. Pull st arter rope sharpl y until engine runs,
but no m ore than 6 pulls.
3. Allow engine to run 15 seconds, then move
the choke lever to RUN.
NOTE: If engine has not started, pull sta rter
rope 5more pulls.If enginest illdoes notrun,it
is probably flooded.
STARTING A FLOODED ENGINE
Flooded engines ca n b e sta rted by placing t he
choke lever in th e RUN posit ion; then, pull the
rope to clear the engine of exce ss fuel. This
could requ ire pulling th e start er handle many
times depend ing on how badly the unit is
flooded. If the unit still doesn’t start, refer to
TROUBLESHOO TING T ABLE or call
1-800-554-6723.

This model is equipped with a coupler which
enables optional attachments to be installed.

CAUTION:
When removing or installing at -
tachments, place the unit on aflat surface for
stability.
1. Loosen the coupler by turning the knob
counterclockwise.
