HELPFUL TIP
To obtain thecorrect oil mix
ratio, pour 3.2 ounces of
2--cycle sy nthetic oil into
one gallon of fresh gas.
This engine is ce rtified to operate on unleaded
gasoli ne. Before operation, gasoline must be
mixed with a good quality synthet ic 2-cycle
air-cooled eng ine oil designed to be m ixed at a
ratio of 40:1. Poul an/WEE D EA TER brand
synthetic oil is recommended. Mix gasoline and
oil a t a ratio of 40:1. A 40:1 ratio is obt ained by
mixing 3.2 fluid ounc es (9 5 ml) of oil with 1
gallon (4 liters) of unleaded gasoline. DO N OT
USE aut omotive o il or mari ne oil. These oils w ill
cause e ngine damage. When m ixing fuel, follow
instr uct ions printed on container . Once oil is
added t o gasoline, shake contai ner m omentarily
to assu re that the fuel is thoroughly mixed.
Always r ead and follow t he sa fety rules re lating
to f uel befo re fu eli ng you r un it.
CAUTION: Ne ver use stra ight gasoline in
your unit. This wi ll cause permanent engine
damage and void the limit ed warranty.
FUEL REQUIREMENTS
This engine requires the u se of minimum 87
octane [R+M]/2 clean gasoline.
IMPORTANT
Use of a lcohol blended f uels (called gasoho l or
usingethanolor methanol) cancause major en-
gine performance and durability problem s.
WARNING: Alternative f uels (notgas-
oline) such as E--15 (15% alcohol), E--20 (20%
alcohol ), E--85 ( 85% a lcohol) are NOT classi fied
as gasoline and are NOT approve d for use i n
2--stroke gasoline engines. Use of alternat ive
fuels will cause problems such as: improper
clutch engage ments, over heating, vapor lock,
power loss, lubrication deficien cy, deteriora tion
of fuel lines, gaskets and internal carburetor
component s, etc. Al ternative fuels cause high
