OPERATION

ON/STOP SWITCH
The ON/STOP switch is located on the trigger
handle and is used to stop the engi ne. To st op
the engine, push and release the engine
ON/STOP s wi t ch.
PRIMER BULB
The P RIMER BULB removes airfrom thecar-
buretor and fuel lines and fills them with fuel.
This allows you to start theengine with fewer
pulls on the starter rope. Activate the primer
bulb by pressing it and allowing it to return to
its original form.
START LEVER
The S TAR TLEVER helpsto supplyfuel t othe
engine to aid in starting. Activate the starting
system by moving the sta rt leve r to the
ST ART posit ion. DO NOT squeeze the
throttle trigger untilthe enginehas startedand
runs.Aft er theengine starts, allow the engine
to warm--up 10--15 seconds, then fully
squeeze the throttle trigger to deactivate the
starti n g system.
COUPLER
The COUPLER enables optional attach-
ments to be installed on the unit.
BEFORE STARTING ENGINE
WARNING: Be sure to r ead the fuel
information in the safety rules before you be-
gin. If you do not understand the safety rules,
do not attempt to fuel your unit. Call
1-800-554-6723.
FUELING ENGINE
WARNING: Remove fuel ca p slowly
when refueling.
HELPFUL TIP
Toobtain thecorrect oilmix
ratio, pour 3.2 ounces of
2--cycle synthetic oil into
one gallon of fresh gas.
Th is engine is cert ified to operate on unleaded
gasoli ne. Before oper ation, gasoline must b e
mixed with a good qu ality synthetic 2-cycle a ir-
cooledengine oil designed to be mixed a t arati o
of 40:1. Poulan/W EED EA TER brand synthetic
oil is recommended. Mix gaso line a nd oilat a r a-
tio of 40:1. A 40:1 ratiois obtained by mixi ng 3.2
fluid ounces (95 ml) of oil with 1 gallon (4 liters)
of unl eaded ga soli ne. D O NOT USE automotive
oil o r m arine o il. T hese oils wi ll cause engin e
damage. When mixing fuel, follow instr ucti ons
printed on co ntainer . Onceoil is added t o gaso-
line, shake c ontainer momentarily toassure t hat
the fuel is thoro ughly m ixed. Always read an d
follow the safety r ules relatingto fuel b efore fuel-
ing your unit.
CAUTION: Ne ver use str aight gasoline in
your unit. This wi ll cause permanent engin e
damage and void the limited warrant y .
FUEL REQUIREMENTS
This engine requires the use of minimum 87
octane [R+M]/2 clean gasoline.

gine perform ance and durability proble ms.
