TRIMMER HEAD
The TRIMMER HEAD holds the cutting line
and rotates during operation. It is des igned to
cut grass.
BLADE
The BLADE is designed to cu t sod.
DEPTH ADJUSTMENT KNOB
The DEPTH ADJUSTMENT KNOB is used
to adjust the wheel for blade cutting depth
when edging.

when refueling.
HELPFUL TIP
Toobtain thecorrect oilmix
ratio, pour 3.2 ounces of
2--cycle synthetic oil into
one gallon of fresh gas.
This engine is ce rtified t o operate on unleaded
gasoli ne. Before operation, gasoline must b e
mixed with a good qualit y synthetic 2-cycle
air-cooled eng ine oil designed to be m ixed at a
ratio of 40:1. Poulan/W EED EA TER brand
synthetic oil is recommended. Mix gasoline and
oil a t a ratio of 40:1. A 4 0:1 ratio is obtained by
mixing 3.2flu id o unces (95 m l) o f oilwith1 gallon
(4 liters) of unleaded gasoline. DO NOT USE
automotive oil o r marine oil. These oils will
cause eng ine damage. When mi xing fuel, follow
instr uct ions printed on container. Once oil is
added to gas oline, shake conta iner moment arily
to assu re that the fuel is thoroug hly mixed.
Always r ead and follow t he sa fety rules re lating
to fuel before fueling your unit.
CAUTION : Neve r use st ra ig ht gas ol ine i n
your unit. This will cause permanent engine
damage and void t he limited warranty.
FUEL REQUIREMENTS
This engine requires the u se of minimum 87
octane [R+M]/2 clean gasoline.
IMPORTANT
Use of alcohol blended fuels (called gasohol or
using ethanol or methanol) can cause m ajor en-
gine performance and durability p roblems.
WARNING: Alternativefue ls (n ot gas-
oline) such as E--15 (15% alco hol), E--20 (20%
alcoho l), E--85 (85% alcohol)ar e NOT classi fied
as gasoline and are NOT approved for use in
2--stroke gasoline engines. Use of alternative
fuels wil l cau se problems su ch as: improper
clutch enga gements, overheating, vapor lock,
power loss, lubrication d efici ency, deterior ation
of fuel lines, gaske ts and intern al ca rburet or
components, etc. Alt ernative fuels cause high
moistu re absorp tion into the fuel /oil m ixtur e
lead in g to oil and fuel separ ation.
HOW TO STOP YOUR UNIT
S Release t he throttle trigger.
S Push and release the engine ON/STOP
swit ch. T h e swit ch wi l l au t o m a t i ca l l y ret u rn to
the ON positi on. Wait 5 seconds before at-
tempting t o r estar t unit t o a llow switch toreset.

1. Set unit on a flat surface.
2. Slowly pre ss the primer bulb 6 t imes.
3. Move the start lever to the STA R T posi-
tion.
