ATTACHING SHIELD (FOR LINE
TRIMMER ATTACHMENT)
WARNING: The shield must be prop-
erly in stall ed. The shield provi des p artial protec-
tion from t he risk o f thrown objects to the opera-
tor and ot hers a nd is equi pped with a l ine limiter
blade which cuts excess line to the proper
length. The line limit er bl ade (on undersi de of
shield ) is sharp and can cut yo u. For proper

1. Remove wing nut f rom shield.
2. Insert bracket into slot as shown.
3. Pivot shielduntil boltpasses throughhole
in bracket.
4. Securely tighten wi n g nut onto bolt.

ON/STOP SWITCH
The ON/ST OP switch is located on the trigger
handle and is used to stop the engine. To stop
the engi ne, pu sh and re lease the engine ON/
STOP swi tch.
PRIMER BULB
The P RIMER BULB removes airfrom thecar-
buretor and fuel lines and fills them with fuel.
This allows you to start theengine with fewer
pulls on the starter rope. A ctivate the primer
bulb by pressing it and allowing it to return to
its original form.
START LEVER
The ST ART LEVER helps to supply fuel to t he
engine to aid in starting. Activate the starti ng
system by movi ng the sta r t leve r to the STAR T
positi on. DO NOT squeeze the t hrottl e tri gger
until the engine has started and runs. After the
engine starts, allow the engine to warm--up
10--15 seconds, then fully squee ze th e throttle
trigger to deactivate the starting system.
COUPLER
The COUPLER enables optional attach-
ments to be installed on the unit.
