Function Block
The measurement function block converts
the input signals into an internal data for
-
mat that is available for formatting into
GPIB bus data. The measurement func
-
tion is divided into three different blocks:
INPut, SENSe and CALCulate. See
Figure 5-3.

INPut
The INPut block performs all the signal
conditioning of the input signal before it
is converted into data by the SENSe
block. The INPut block includes cou
-
pling, impedance, filtering etc.

SENSe
The SENSe block converts the signals
into internal data that can be processed by
the CALCulate block. The SENSe com
-
mands control various characteristics of
the measurement and acquisition process.
These include: gate time, measurement
function, resolution, etc.

CALCulate
The CALCulate block performs all the
necessary calculations to get the required
data. These calculations include: calibra-
tion, statistics, mathematics, etc.
