DECK LiFT LEVER
Foundon yourtractor'srightfender,the
decklift leveris usedto changetheheight
of thecuttingdeck. Touse,movethe lever
to theleft,then placeinthe notchbest
suitedfor yourapplication.
IGNITION SWITCH MODULE
Tostart theengine,insertthekeyinto
the ignitionswitchand turnclockwise
to theSTARTposition.Releasethe
keyintothe NORMALMOWINGMODE
positiononcethe enginehasfired.
Tostoptheengine,turnthe ignitionkey
counterclockwisetothe STOPposition.
(BladeEngageknob),setparkingbrake,stopengineand remove
to preventunintendedstarting.
Priorto operatingthetractor,referto bothSafetyInterlockSwitches
andStartingThe Enginein the Operationsectionofthismanual
fordetailedinstructionsregardingthe IgnitionSwitchModuleand
[operatngthe tractor n REVERSECAUTON MODE.
DRIVE PEDAL
Thedrivepedalis locatedon the rightsideof
thetractor,alongthe runningboard.Pressthe
drivepedalforwardto causethe tractortotravel
forward.Groundspeedis alsocontrolledwith
thedrive pedal.Thefurtherforwardthe pedalis
pivoted,thefasterthe tractorwilltravel.The pedal
will returnto itsoriginalpositionwhenit'snot
pressed.
REVERSE PEDAL
The reversepedalis locatedonthe rightsideof the
tractoralongthe runningboard. Groundspeedis
alsocontrolledwiththe reversepedal.Thefurther
downwardthe pedalis pivoted,thefasterthe
tractorwill travel.Thepedalwill returnto itsoriginal
positionwhenit'snot pressed.

SYSTEMS INDICATOR MONITOR/HOUR
METER LCD
Whenthe ignitionkeyis
rotatedout ofthe STOP
positionbut notintothe START
position,thesystem'sindicator
monitordisplaysthebattery's
output,in volts,on its LCDfor
approximatelyfiveseconds,
afterwhichit displaysan hour
glassandthe hoursoftractor
operation.Oncethetractoris
started,the monitorcontinually
displaysan hourglassandthe

hoursof tractoroperationon itsLCD.
NOTE: Hoursoftractoroperationarerecordedanytimethe ignition
keyis rotatedout of theSTOPposition,regardlessof whetherthe
engineis started.
The IndicatorMonitorwillalso remindtheoperatorof maintenance
intervalsforchangingthe engineoil. TheLCDwill alternatelyflash
the recordedhours,"CHG"and"OIL."forfiveminutes,afterevery50
hoursof recordedoperationelapse.The maintenanceintervallasts
for two hours(from50-52, 100-102,150-152,etc.).The LCDwill also
flashas describedabovefor fiveminuteseverytimethe tractor's
enginehasbeenstartedduringthismaintenanceinterval.Beforethe
intervalexpires,changethe engineoilas instructedinthe Serviceand
Maintenancesectionof thisOperator'sManual.
Brake
if theBrakelightilluminateswhenattemptingto startthe tractor's
engine,depressthebrakepedal.
PTO (Blade Engage)
Ifthe PTOlight illuminateswhenattemptingto startthe tractor's
engine,movePTOknobinto thedisengaged(OFF)position.
Oil
Itis normalfor theOillightto illuminatewhile theengineis cranking
duringstart-up,but if it illuminatesduringoperation,whilethe engineis
running,stopthetractorimmediatelyandcheckthe engineoil levelas
instructedinthis Operator'sManual.
Battery
Itis normalfor theBatterylight to illuminatewhilethe engineis
crankingduringstart-up,but ifit illuminatesduringoperation,whilethe
engineis running,thebatteryisinneedof a chargeorthe engine's
chargingsystemis notgeneratingsufficientamperage.Chargethe
batteryas instructedin the Servicesectionof thismanualor havethe
chargingsystemcheckedbyaSearsor otherqualifiedservicedealer.
