Moving The Tractor Manually
Yourtractor'stransmissionisequippedwitha hydrostaticreliefvalve
for occasionswhenitis necessaryto movethe tractormanually.Open-
ingthisvalvepermitsthe fluidin the transmissionto bypassits normal
route,allowingthereartiresto "freewheel."Toopenthe hydrostatic
reliefvalve,proceedas follows:
1. Locatethe hydrostaticbypassrodinthe rearof thetractor.See
Figure1.
Shipping Brace Removal
Makesurethe gardentractor'sengineis off,setthe parkingbrake
and removethe ignitionkeybeforeremovingthe shippingbrace.
1. Locatethe shippingbrace,if present,andwarningtag foundon
the rightside ofthe cutting deck. See Figure 2.

2. Pullthe hydrostaticbypassrodoutward,thenup,to lock itin
place.
NOTE:The transmissionwill NOTengagewhenthe hydrostatic
bypassrodis pulledout. Returnthe rodto itsnormalpositionpriorto
operatingthe tractor.
2. Whileholdingthe dischargecoverchutedeflectorwithyourleft
hand, removetheshippingbracewithyourrighthandby grasping
it betweenyourthumbandindexfingerandrotatingit clockwise.
The shippingbraceis usedfor packagingpurposesonly.Removeant
discardthe shippingbracebeforeoperatingyourgardentractor.
Neverattemptto movethetractormanuallywithoutfirst openingthe
hydrostaticreliefvalve.Doingsowill resultinseriousdamageto the
tractor'stransmission.
The mowingdeckis capableofthrowingobjects.Operatingthe riding
mowerwithoutthedischargecoverin theproperoperatingposition
could resultin seriouspersonalinjuryand/orpropertydamage.
