Connecting the Battery Cables Checking Tire Pressure
Batteryposts,terminals,andrelatedaccessoriescontainleadand
leadcompounds,chemicalsknowntothe Stateof Californiato cause
cancerandreproductiveharm.Washhandsafterhandling.
Whenattachingbatterycables,alwaysconnectthe POSiTiVE(Red)
wire toits terminalfirst,followedbythe NEGATIVE(Black)wire.
For shippingreasons,bothbatterycablesonyourequipmentmay
havebeenleft disconnectedfromtheterminalsatthe factory.To
connectthebatterycables,proceedasfollows:
NOTE:The positivebatteryterminalismarkedPos.(+).The negative
batteryterminalis markedNeg.(-).
NOTE: Ifthe positivebatterycableis alreadyattached,skipaheadto
step2.
1. Removetheplasticcover,if present,fromthe positivebattery
terminalandattachthe redcable to thepositivebatteryterminal
(+)withthe bolt andhexnut.See Figure3.

2. Removetheplasticcover,if present,fromthe negativebattery
terminalandattachthe blackcableto the negativebattery
terminal(-) withthe boltandhex nut.SeeFigure3.
3. Positionthe redrubberbootoverthe positivebatteryterminalto
helpprotectit fromcorrosion.
NOTE: Ifthe batteryisput intoserviceafterthe dateshownontop/
sided battery,chargethe batteryas instructedinthe Serviceand
Maintenancesectionof this Operator'sManualpriorto operatingthe
tractor.
Neverexceedthe maximuminflationpressureshownon thesidewall
of thetire.Do notoverinfiatetires. Checksidewallof tiresfor maxi-
mumpsi.Equaltire pressureshouldbemaintainedat all times.
The tiresonyourtractormaybeoverinfiatedfor shippingpurposes.
Reducethe tirepressurebeforeoperatingthetractor.Checksidewall
of tiresfor maximumpsi.
Adjusting the Seat
Toadjustthe positionof the seat,pullupandholdthe seatadjustment
lever.Slidethe seatforwardor rearwardtothedesiredposition;then
releasetheadjustmentlever.Makesureseatis lockedintopositionin
a seat-stopbeforeoperatingthetractor.SeeFigure4.
Beforeoperatingthe tractor,makesurethe seatis engagedina
seat-stop.Engagetheparkingbrake.Standbehindthe machineand
pull backon seatuntil itclicksintoplace.

Toadjustthe angleof thearmrests,liftthe armrestsand rotatethe
heightadjustknobclockwiseto lowertheangleor counterclockwiseto
raisetheangle.SeeFigure4.
