GENERAL SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
Stop switch
Make sure the engine stops when you push
and hold the stop switch.
Cutting attachment guard
This guard is intended to prevent loose
objects from being thrown towards the
operator. The guard also protects the
operator from accidental contact with the
cutting attachment.
Check that the guard is undamaged and not
crac ked. Replace th e guard if it has been
exposed t o impact or is cracked.
Always use the recomm ended guard for the
cutting attachment you are using. See the
“Technica l data” sect ion.
Use of incorrectly wound trimmer line or an
incorrect cut ting attachment incr eases the
level of vibration.

data”. If an incorrect or faulty guard
is fitt ed this can ca use seri ous
personal injury .
W ARNING: Overexpo sure to
vibrat ion can lead to circ ulatory
damage or nerve damage in people
whohaveimpairedcirculation.
Contac t your doctor if you experi-
ence sympto ms of overe xposure to
vibration. Such symptoms include
numbnes s, loss of feeling, tingling,
pricking, pain, loss of strength,
changes in skin color or condition.
These symptoms normally appear
in the fingers, hands or wrists. The
risk in creases at low te mperatu res.
Muffler
The muffler is designed to reduce t he noise
level and to direct the exhaust gases away
from the operator.
CAUTION! Muff ler is fitted with a catalytic
conver tic designed to reduce harmful ex-
haust gases.
In countries that have a warm and dry
climate there is a significant risk of fire.
We therefore fit certain muf flers with a spark
arrestor mesh. Check whether the muffler
on your machine is fitted with this kind of
mesh .
For mufflers, it is very important that you
follow the instructions on checking, main-
taining, and ser vicing your machine.
Never use a machine that has a faulty
muffler.
Regularly check that the muffler is secur ely
attached to the machine.
